Popular electric SUV Zeekr 7X, which in two years on the market has carved out a spot as China’s rival to the Tesla Model Y, is getting ready for another update. Fresh homologation documents from China confirm that the 2027 model will receive a new drivetrain and a battery—just as the manufacturer itself announced a few days ago. By the way, you can also buy this model here.
What homologation revealed: 496 hp and a new LFP battery
According to the website CarNewsChina, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has approved a new LFP version of the Zeekr 7X with a rear motor producing 370 kW (496 hp). The same output is also offered by the current rear-wheel-drive version. Dimensions remain unchanged (length 4,825 mm, wheelbase 2,925 mm), while the top speed is stated at 240 km/h.
The documents also confirm several optional equipment features: four-piston front brake calipers, three wheel sizes (19″, 20″ and 21″), a two-tone roof, a roof rack, different rear door variants, and body badge markings. The exact battery capacity is not given in this type of document. We know it from the manufacturer’s earlier statement.
A million-kilometer battery will fill the gap in the lineup
According to an earlier announcement from Zeekr, the 2027 model will get a new 85 kWh LFP battery called “Aegis Golden Brick”, developed by the parent Geely group using the short “blade” cells. The manufacturer claims a range of up to one million kilometers and 3,500 charging cycles, with good resistance to thermal runaway.
The new battery is meant to fill the gap between the existing variants: an entry version with 75 kWh (620 km CLTC) and a long-range version with 103 kWh (802 km CLTC). It’s expected to deliver over 700 km according to China’s CLTC cycle, putting the Zeekr on par with the competing Li Auto i6 (720 km thanks to a 87.3 kWh battery). Exact range and consumption figures have not been officially confirmed yet.

The exact range figure, consumption, or charging power for the new 85 kWh Zeekr version has not been disclosed yet. Those should come closer to the autumn launch.
On sale now, new version arrives in autumn
The current Zeekr 7X is sold in China for 229,800 to 269,800 yuan (roughly $34,200 to $40,150), and it’s doing really well. In July 2026, more than 6,400 customers bought it there—an 87% month-over-month increase—and in under two years on the market, the model has already racked up over 200,000 units produced. The updated version with a new battery is set to arrive in the Chinese market in the 4th quarter of 2026; Zeekr has not yet revealed pricing or the exact date.

Meanwhile, Zeekr is also tempting customers with the current generation. The September promo runs from 1. to 30. 9. and, with a deposit of 5 000 yuan (about 745 dollars), offers an insurance contribution of 10 000 yuan (about 1 490 dollars) plus additional benefits depending on the equipment.
Zeekr 7X is already on sale here too
Unlike many Chinese novelties, this isn’t a car that’s just theoretical for us. You can buy the Zeekr 7X in Slovakia today through the importer EV STORE, with prices starting at about €54,800 for the base Core RWD, up to €68,300 for the powerful Privilege AWD. The European version differs from the Chinese one in details (different dimensions and batteries), but it offers up to 615 km of range according to WLTP, and thanks to an 800V architecture it can charge from 10% to 80% in about 13 minutes.
The new 85 kWh homologation version is currently intended only for the Chinese market and will fill the gap between the existing variants. Whether and when a similar update will also make it into the European lineup is not clear yet. We’ll keep an eye on what Zeekr officially confirms closer to the autumn launch.
