Exceptional picture and smooth display
The display is the foundation of any great TV, and the TCL 98P743 won’t disappoint. With 4K Ultra HD resolution, it delivers more than enough sharpness for a screen that big. Its panel uses LED technology with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, meaning it can reproduce bright colors, deep shadows, and excellent contrast.
The TV also offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which is ideal for gamers and fans of fast-paced sports scenes. Smooth motion with no image tearing lets you watch quick sequences with maximum clarity. Local dimming technology further improves black levels and boosts contrast exactly where it’s needed.
Powerful sound with Dolby Atmos
The TCL 98P743 also doesn’t forget about sound. It features a speaker system with 60 W output, including a subwoofer. That gives you rich, deep audio when watching movies or listening to music. With technologies like Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS HD, you can enjoy true surround sound that pulls you right into the action. For an even better experience, there’s also DTS Virtual: X support, which simulates 3D audio even without a multi-channel setup.
Smart features on the Google TV platform
This model runs on the Google TV operating system, meaning you get access to thousands of apps and streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and more directly on your TV. With voice control via Google Assistant, you can easily operate the TV or search for content. If you prefer the Apple ecosystem, you’ll also appreciate Apple AirPlay 2 support, which lets you mirror content from your iPhone or iPad to the big screen.
The TV also supports Chromecast and Miracast, making it easy to pair with your smartphone or tablet without any extra hardware. For more traditional viewers, there’s a DVB-C/S2/T2 tuner with support for the latest HEVC standard.
Connectivity at the next level
The TV offers plenty of ports for connecting various devices. You’ll find 4 HDMI ports, which is perfect for hooking up multiple devices like gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, or soundbars. There are also 2 USB ports, letting you connect external storage or other accessories. For convenient internet connection, you can use either a LAN cable or wireless WiFi. Bluetooth supports connecting external devices such as headphones or speakers.
TCL 98P743 will also impress you with its modern design. The matte screen removes annoying glare, and the VESA standard (600×500) makes wall mounting simple. As for energy efficiency, this model falls into energy class G, which is pretty common at this screen size. Still, thanks to modern technologies, its power consumption is optimized to stay as low as possible without sacrificing picture or sound quality.
