AliExpress will pay the customs duty for you and the new EU fee too! From 17 € in import fees, only 6 cents are left in your cart

26. October 2026 4 min read 2 comments
Quick summary

  • The promo covers customs duty plus the new 2 € handling fee
  • The fixed discount went up from 3 € to 5 €
  • Out of 17 € in fees, we paid 6 cents
  • Condition: 3 products from the same category

The additional new handling fee of €2 that AliExpress is already charging in the checkout on top of the three-euro customs duty collected by the EU from July 1 means that one type of goods from China will be more expensive by €6.15. The Bundle Deals Duty Covered promo, which we wrote about at the beginning of October, is still covering it. On Sunday, October 25, we went through the whole purchase all the way to checkout, and AliExpress deducted both the customs duty and the new fee for three products, so out of the import fees totaling €17 we paid only 6 cents.

Cart test: 17 € in fees — we paid 6 cents

We added two clips for glasses for 2.78 € and 2.01 €, plus sunglasses for 17.81 €, for a total cart of 22.60 €. Checkout added estimated import fees of 17 €, but right underneath them appeared a line for AliExpress import charge reduction with a discount of 16.94 €. So we paid 22.66 €, even though without the promo the exact same order would have cost 39.60 €.

The discount has two parts. The fixed reward „Buy 3+, import charges on us“ is now 5 € instead of the original 3 €, which exactly matches 3 € customs duty and the new 2 € fee. The rest of the fees, including VAT, is covered by the second part called „Duty benefits“, which was 11.94 € for our cart.

In the fee breakdown, AliExpress listed a handling fee of 2,04 € and customs duty of 14,96 €. How the platform arrived at those amounts isn’t explained, and the formula amounts of 3,69 € for one type of product and 2,46 € for a customs category don’t match exactly. For you, though, that’s not important, because the promo covered almost the entire sum — and upon delivery you don’t pay anything extra.

How the Bundle Deals Duty Covered promo works

In a separate Bundle Deals channel you pick a category, for example Sunglasses, Essentials, Chargers, Connectors, LED Lighting, Textiles, Bags, or Toys, and add at least three products from it. The panel on the right shows how many items you still need, and once you meet the condition, AliExpress automatically deducts the discount from the import fees in checkout and adds free shipping.

Each category has its own small cart, separate from the regular AliExpress cart, and products from different categories don’t add up. So you can’t put a screen protector, a cable, and a sponge into one promo order. Before paying, check that all three products are ticked in the panel, because in our test the sunglasses remained unticked after adding them and therefore didn’t count toward the condition.

What you can buy in the promo

Most of the offer consists of cheap small items for 1 to 10 euros per piece, meaning screen protectors and phone cases, cables, connectors, chargers, clips for glasses, sponges, hangers, or textile accessories. The promo is most worth it exactly for these, since three different little items would now cost you more than 18 € in fees alone. Branded items are the exception — but among the sunglasses we even found an original Xiaomi MIJIA Classic Square.

Sale coupons 11.11

In September, we verified that the promo can be combined with universal AliExpress coupons. The coupon is applied even before the discount on the fees, and in checkout you can see both lines one under the other. The sale 11.11 starts on 1. November, and whether the combination works with its coupons we’ll check right after it launches. For now, the current codes for Slovakia are in this overview:

What to watch out for

AliExpress has not officially announced or published the date when this promotion ends anywhere. It has been running since September, survived the autumn sale, and according to our test it also adapted to the new fee, but the platform can change it or turn it off at any time. Before paying, always check whether, in checkout, there is a line with the discount under the estimated fees.

Keep your order under 150 €, because up to this limit a flat customs duty of 3 € applies for the second item type. Above it, customs duty is calculated using the standard rates, and whether the promotion would also cover such an order—we did not verify. If you want to avoid the fees completely even outside the promotion, go for items from European warehouses where you don’t pay customs duty or any additional fee.
