You can massage your own back

The main difference from regular massage guns is the interchangeable handle. In short mode, you hold the G40 like a classic gun and massage your arms, thighs, or calves. When you attach the long bent handle—what the manufacturer calls a swan neck—you sling it over your shoulder or behind your back, and the heads reach your shoulder blades, your neck area, and even your cross-area—places a regular gun only hits with help.

With two heads side by side, one placement covers a larger area—so for wider muscles like your back or thighs, you don’t have to move the gun back and forth as much. The manufacturer also claims the long handle works like a damper and transfers significantly less vibration into your hand, so your fingers don’t tingle during longer sessions.

Power 8,15 kg on each head and five levels

Each of the heads pushes with up to 8.15 kg and has an 8 mm stroke. You can adjust the speed in five levels from 1,600 to 3,000 strikes per minute—where the weakest level is also suitable for older people or sensitive areas, and the strongest one for stiff muscles after training. According to the manufacturer, the gun senses how hard you press it against your body, and the light ring shows you whether you’re not overdoing the pressure.

In the box, besides the fixed flat head, you also get a mushroom head for large muscle groups and a cone head for precise points—e.g., on your feet or trigger points in your neck. The flat heads are permanently mounted on the device, so you only swap the attachments.

One third of the price of Theragun, but with a shorter stroke

The best-known massage gun Theragun Prime G6 costs on Heureka from 255 € and the smaller Hypervolt Go 2 is about 149 €. Both have one head, so you only reach your back partially with them—Theragun uses a triangular handle. With the coupon, Birdify G40 is under 85 €, i.e., about one third the price of Theragun, and it has two heads plus a back handle.

But the price difference has its reasons too. Theragun has a stroke of 16 mm, meaning double the distance—so it reaches deeper into the muscle more effectively. It also has an app with programs and comes from a well-established brand. Birdify is a new brand here and, on GShopper, it doesn’t have even one review yet. If your main goal is to loosen your back after a day at the computer and you don’t want to pay 250 €, then G40 is a reasonable choice.

Quiet motor and a battery for ten days

Brushless motor with copper winding—the manufacturer says it lasts a long time and works quietly; the noise level is rated at 40 to 45 dB, which is about like a quiet conversation, so you can use the gun in the office without disturbing your colleagues.

A battery with capacity 2,000 mAh should last about 10 days according to the manufacturer, if you use the gun once a day for 10 minutes at a medium level. The whole unit weighs 540 g, so in short mode you can comfortably hold it in one hand even while massaging your own arm.

The manufacturer states the battery is suitable for travel by plane or train, so you can pack the gun for your vacation or for skiing.
