Brand Avatr, backed by Changan, CATL and Huawei, announced the 2026 model-year sedan Avatr 06 in China on Thursday. It narrowed the offering from five versions down to two, which get larger batteries and, as standard, the latest driving assistant Huawei Qiankun ADS 5. The base price after the discount also dropped below the level of the original model.
Just two versions and a lower price after the discount
When Avatr 06 launched on the market last April, it offered five versions priced from 209,900 to 279,900 yuan (about €28,000 to €37,400), and the cheapest one had a simpler Huawei ADS SE system without LiDAR. According to the portal CnEVPost, the base version has now been dropped, as has the version with two motors and all-wheel drive—leaving only two Max versions: one with a range extender (EREV) and the other purely electric (BEV).

The EREV version costs 219,900 yuan (about €29,300) and the electric version 229,900 yuan (about €30,700), so without discounts the entry price increased by 10,000 yuan (about €1,300). Avatr, however, applies a temporary discount of 14,000 yuan (about €1,900) to both versions: EREV comes out at 205,900 yuan (about €27,500) and BEV at 215,900 yuan (about €28,800). If you place an order by the end of October, you get free front seats with a zero-gravity function and the ADS Max package worth 21,000 yuan (about €2,800). The first owner also gets a lifetime warranty for the battery, motor, and the control electronics.
Larger CATL batteries and up to 1 190 km of range
The EREV version has a 1.5-liter gasoline range-extender and a rear electric motor producing 231 kW, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. The CATL LFP battery has grown from 31.7 to 32.3 kWh, so the car can go 230 km on electric power alone, and with a full tank up to 1,190 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.
The electric BEV version is built on an 800-volt platform with silicon carbide, and its rear motor has 252 kW—so it accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The CATL Shenxing battery has grown from 72.88 to 75.46 kWh and delivers up to 650 km according to CLTC. Charge it from 30 to 80% in under 10 minutes, or from 0 to 80% in under 17 minutes.
Huawei ADS 5 takes the car all the way to the charging station
The main new feature is the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 driving assistant on the WEWA 2.0 architecture, supported by an enhanced 4D radar with millimeter-wave sensors. The car can navigate to a specific charging spot in a parking lot, and it also adds the RCA (roaming cruise assist) feature, which is designed to help with slow driving in cities and in parking areas.

Safety is also handled by the Huawei CAS 5.0 system, which should protect the car from collisions from all sides. Avatr has also revised the mechanical door opening from inside, and the exterior door handles are now only partially recessed so the occupants can get out and rescuers can enter even if the electronics fail.
Interior with a 35-inch panoramic display
The dimensions stayed the same: the sedan is 4,855 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,467 mm tall, with a 2,940 mm wheelbase, and it carries five people inside. In front of the driver there is a 35.4-inch panoramic display with 4K resolution. In the middle you get a touchscreen with a 15.6-inch diagonal, and instead of traditional rear-view mirrors there are two 6.7-inch displays.

The seats are upholstered in nappa leather, the audio is handled by a Meridian sound system, and the front doors open electrically. Avatr 06 is the second sedan model from the brand after Avatr 12, and at the same time its third model—you can buy it as a pure EV, or with a gasoline range-extender.

Avatr is not sold in Slovakia yet. The brand at the auto show in Paris announced it will enter Europe in 2027 and will start in Norway and Spain with the Avatr 06T wagon and the SUV 07L, as Vision Mobility reports. The sedan 06 is not among the first models for Europe, but the wagon 06T is based on it technically.
