Chinese version, but with English and other languages

The seller offers a Chinese version of the camera. In practice, that doesn’t mean any limitation in operation—the menu supports English, German, Polish, French, and more languages. The camera is new and unused, but before shipping the seller activates it, which they say doesn’t affect normal use or performance. Keep in mind that for warranty claims you’ll be dealing with the seller, not the Slovak distributor.

In the box you’ll find the camera, a USB cable, a protective case, a cleaning cloth, and a quick user guide. A selfie stick or mounts are not included, but X6 is compatible with the extensive Insta360 accessory ecosystem, including the new magnetic mount.

Two 1/1.1″ sensors and 8K at 50 fps

The biggest change is on the inside. Insta360 X6 uses two square 1/1.1″ sensors that, according to the manufacturer, are 33% larger than in the X5 model. A larger sensor area means more light, less noise in low-light conditions, and a wider dynamic range. The camera records native 8K at 50 fps in 10-bit color, and according to the manufacturer it’s the first 360° camera to support Dolby Vision directly in-camera.

If you don’t need 360° footage, you switch to single-lens mode and shoot classic video at 5K at 60 fps or slow motion 4K at 120 fps. Photos in 360° mode have a resolution of 120 MPx. For more demanding users, there’s also a 10-bit I-Log profile for color grading in post-production.

140 minutes of battery life and charging to 80 % in 24 minutes

According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts for 140 minutes of 8K recording at 30 fps, which is 47 minutes more than on the X5. The new 4-nanometer chip is more powerful and also more power-efficient. And when the battery runs out, fast charging gets it from zero to 80% in 24 minutes. For long trips, there’s also an optional selfie stick with a battery, which adds extra hours of recording.

Footage is saved to 47 GB of built-in storage and you transfer it to your phone via Wi‑Fi 6 or USB‑C. The camera is also shorter and more compact than its predecessor: he weighs 196 g, and the rear is taken up by a 2.32″ OLED display with up to 1,200 nits of brightness that’s readable even in sunlight.

AI editing (PanoMind) and waterproofing up to 20 meters

The biggest downside of 360° cameras is the time-consuming selection of footage. Insta360 solves this with PanoMind, which the manufacturer trained on more than 10,000 hours of videos. From the uploaded material, the camera automatically picks the best moments and edits them into a short video — even while charging — so when you get home you’ll have a finished clip without any manual work.

A camera with IP68 rating is waterproof up to 20 meters without a case, and with an underwater housing it handles up to 60 meters. The lenses have enhanced scratch resistance, and if they do get damaged, they can be replaced—replacement lenses are up to 60% cheaper than the previous generation, according to the manufacturer. It’s also worth noting that there are no longer physical buttons under the display, so you control it mainly via the touchscreen, voice, or gestures.
