The smartphone manufacturer Realme can definitely be considered one of the established brands right now. The Chinese company has, in its portfolio, smartphones with an excellent price-to-performance ratio, similarly to Xiaomi, OnePlus, or Vivo. Some models are cheaper, while others are more expensive.

The upcoming and highly anticipated model lineup Realme GT Neo with model number 5 is set to be one of the main protagonists of 2023. Even though we still have quite a bit of time until the actual unveiling, various interesting details about the specs are starting to surface.

Realme GT Neo 5 in two variants

On the microblogging platform Weibo, a post has appeared just recently that summarizes the currently available information related to the upcoming arrival of a new smartphone series. According to what we’ve heard, we can look forward to as many as two models, but the differences between them shouldn’t be more than marginal.

Based on the leaks, both smartphones are expected to debut with a beautiful 6.74″ AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution (2772 x 1240 pixels) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The toughest performance demands will be handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

Both models will also offer the same camera setup on the back. The main 50 MPx Sony IMX890 sensor will be joined by an ultrawide lens with 8 MPx resolution, plus a 2 MPx macro sensor. The base memory configuration is 8 / 128 GB, but the top version will offer up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of internal storage.

There were quite a few shared features—now it’s time to move on to a few differences, and since there really aren’t many, that shouldn’t take long. The variants will mainly differ in battery capacity and charging speed. The base model will come with a 5000 mAh battery and 150 W charging. The more advanced sibling will raise the bar a bit higher, specifically to 4600 mAh and up to 240 W charging.

Right now, the maximum charging power of 240 W is a huge lure for many people. We’re personally very curious about this Chinese move as well, but as we mentioned in the introduction to the article, we’ll still need to wait a bit before it hits the market.
