Currently, OPPO already has tested 125 W fast charging, which we informed you about. However, Realme was originally founded as a sub-brand of OPPO, so certain technologies are still shared between them.
Extreme fast charging
Realme tested its new 125 W UltraDart charging on a device with a 4000 mAh battery capacity. According to their measurements, it can replenish 33 % of the battery in under 3 minutes, which is truly fantastic. It uses a special three-way charging principle with efficient cooling. GET THE DISCOUNT
More precisely, it’s charging across three branches, where reduced voltage is used to lower the temperature. The battery isn’t charged as a whole, but split into two blocks, which are charged at half power.
But this happens simultaneously, so after summing the power we get the value of 125 W. The manufacturer claims they achieved an efficiency of 98 %, especially thanks to well-handled cooling. The batteries also feature special 6C cells, which are much more efficient.
Better cooling is also handled by a new design that shortens the path between the USB Type-C port and the heat source, meaning much less of the device itself heats up. Realme also said that during the charging process the temperature won’t exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
Compatibility with laptops and older standards
Good news: with UltraDart charging, you can also charge a laptop. There’s also backward compatibility with Realme, OPPO, and even OnePlus’ older and slower charging standards.
More precisely, it’s the VOOC, Dart, Warp, SuperVOOC, SuperVOOC 2.0 and SuperDart charging protocols. It also supports the 125 W PPS standard, the 65 W PD standard, and the 36 W QC standard fast charging. World-wide voltage support of 100 – 240 V is also included.
