Our editorial rating is based on product testing.

Pros
  • Powerful and high-quality 750 W Bafang motor
  • Fantastic range, branded Samsung cells
  • Adjustable rear air shock
  • TOP hydraulic brakes
  • Nice looks that draw in passersby
Cons
  • Basic Shimano chainring
  • Higher price
  • Low seat and lower pedal placement

We fully kicked off our collaboration with Lankeleisi in 2023, when we tested their first model with two motors. This year, we’ve reached yet another TOP-notch Lankeleisi RV800 Plus model, which is, in our opinion, the absolute top of the brand.

This bike will impress you not only with its looks—something that convinces you just about every second person, if not every passer-by who keeps turning their head—but also with its top-notch specs. First off, we can mention the quality 750 W Bafang motor, Samsung cells with an insane range, a great rear air shock, and excellent Zoom hydraulic brakes. But there’s more—so get comfortable and read our review!

Where to buy it?

You can buy the Lankeleisi RV800 Plus in several places, but we definitely recommend the official Lankeleisi EU store, with which we have an established collaboration. In addition to exclusive coupons, they also offer VIP customer support and can help you place an order if you’re not sure how to do it.

Delivery from their EU warehouse takes a very short time, which we confirmed ourselves. You can expect the bike at home in as little as 2 working days after it ships from the warehouse. The seller offers a 1 year warranty on the battery and a 3-year warranty on the bike frame.

Large box and carefully packed product

Lankeleisi RV800 Plus arrives in a pretty large and heavy box, so we definitely recommend having a second person help during assembly. It took us two people just over half an hour to put it together. What we give the manufacturer a thumbs-up for is that the bike is carefully packed, with protective film too, so no part gets damaged during shipping.

In the box, besides the bike itself, you’ll also find a separate package with a front light, 3 A charger, front and rear plastic fenders, a lock directly from the manufacturer, a set of keys for assembly, and a smaller pump that can be mounted to the frame—plus of course a manual that looks really good and is well thought out.

You need to install the handlebars, and we recommend tightening every single screw properly. Of course, you also need to mount the front wheel, attach the included axle, screw on the pedals (make sure you insert the left pedal with the cap for the cadence sensor—otherwise you’ll have to unscrew it), attach the front light and the fenders.

First impressions, build quality

After unboxing the Lankeleisi RV800 Plus, we were immediately taken by its, frankly, unique look—– a beautiful sporty frame for a mountain fat bike with a black-turquoise color scheme. The manufacturer also offers an orange-black version, which also looks great. The dominant features are definitely its thick tires, and what really stands out—typical for Lankeleisi—is the aluminum rim with cutouts, where you can see .

At first glance, everything on the bike looks well-made—whether it’s the welds on the frame or the tightened bolts. We like how the manufacturer built a removable battery into the frame and how they handled the cable organization, of which there are quite a few running through the handlebars.

Massive 20 x 4″ tires

For its models, the Lankeleisi manufacturer always uses higher-quality components, including thick 20 x 4 inch KENDA tires. Their quality is very good, and they offer solid ride characteristics.

As we mentioned, these top-tier Lankeleisi bikes feature a special type of rim, where there are openings and you can see the inner tube (or its casing) in a contrasting color—giving the whole wheel a really nice and interesting look.

Removable battery, but a lower frame

A high-quality aluminum alloy frame is expertly designed, especially when it comes to integrating the battery into the frame with an easy-to-use removable mechanism. Some manufacturers make it more complicated by pulling it out from underneath—which is also the case with the cheaper Randride YG90B. Among the minor downsides, we also mention the fairly low-positioned pedals, which you might catch when leaning into a turn—so it’s something to watch out for.

It’s an electric bike designed by Asians, so you should always expect slightly smaller dimensions. For us Europeans, maybe a bit higher frame would be better, and especially a longer seat. If you’re taller than 180 cm, you’ll most likely need to look for a longer seat, because pedaling on the bike will be uncomfortable.

Great suspension and ride feel

On the front, a massive fork takes center stage, but unfortunately it’s not air—it’s only hydraulic and lockable. It dampens well. As for the rear shock, it’s truly great, since it’s an air shock. We give Lankeleisi a big thumbs-up for not using the basic version that many typical Chinese manufacturers rely on.

After unboxing, we inflated it further to the required values with a special pump and adjusted it so it now works perfectly. It can be fine-tuned to your weight, which significantly affects the overall ride feel—it’s perfect. It absorbs bumps excellently.

The ride feel is genuinely great—on rough terrain full of bumps, you can fly along at speeds up to 40 km/h, and the combination of chunky tires and a fully suspended frame makes it feel like you’re going over a flat road.

Excellent range thanks to Samsung cells

If you were used to no-name battery cells from cheaper manufacturers and then got on the RV800 Plus, you’d definitely be impressed by the range of this e-scooter. It’s amazing what difference quality cells can make. Even though the capacity isn’t the highest—20 Ah is still enough for what the manufacturer claims. Their “laboratory” ranges were tested at 20 km/h, and we can confirm the authenticity, but we doubt anyone will ride this machine that slowly.

That’s why we decided to test the range of the purely electric drive in mode 4 and the fastest mode 5. On average, we reached speeds around 40 – 45 km/h. Overall, we managed to cover 50 km.

During another test ride, where we combined speed modes 2-3 and helped with pedaling, we managed to go as far as 95 kilometers at an average speed of about 30 km/h. Those are really solid numbers. At a lower average speed of around 25 km/h, you’ll cover more than 25 km without any drop in the battery status shown on the display. Lankeleisi RV800 Plus is therefore a great choice for those who enjoy long routes and don’t even have to drag a charger along with them.

High-quality Bafang motor

A 750 W motor from the Chinese brand Bafang is installed in the rear hub. Bafang is one of the most popular electric motor manufacturers, alongside Bosch. Their products are reliable and, most importantly, known for solid power—which we also confirmed. Even though the nominal output is only 750 W, with a 1000 W motor from the cheaper Randride YG90B, it showed no mercy—it outperformed it in acceleration and also at the maximum speed.

The motor’s maximum power is 1130 W, which is basically the answer to the strong acceleration that this fairly heavy RV800 Plus can deliver.

We’re a bit disappointed by the fact that this bike doesn’t include a torque sensor, because acceleration while pedaling isn’t smooth—it instead adds power constantly as long as the cadence sensor detects that the crank is turning. For us, this is the bike’s main downside.

How is it to ride?

Lankeleisi RV800 Plus is a ride-experience bike, where comfort and ease are the focus. The powerful motor, together with an awesome battery, takes the rider completely off pedaling duty—so you can fully enjoy the surroundings, the miles, and even more miles.

Of course, if you want to enjoy the ride with some physical activity, it’s easy to pleasantly combine the electric assist in the first or second level with pedaling. We can confirm that this beauty lets you work up a sweat, too.

After longer rides, the seat started to press on us—even though it looks very comfortable and wide, it’s probably just a matter of getting used to it. Nothing on the bike creaks, except the stem/mount for the handlebars, but we fixed that by tightening it. We also like the adjustable rear shock—on flat ground we can set the spring return to be weaker, and off-road we can set it to be stronger.

With thick tires, riding feels significantly different compared to such classic 2-inch models—you’ll need to get used to it. However, this e-scooter won’t have any problems with high curbs, stairs, bigger potholes, and similar obstacles. Riding it is truly an experience and great fun.

Gears and speed modes

What definitely won’t impress you about the Lankeleisi RV800 Plus is the basic 7-speed Shimano Altus M310 rear derailleur. If the gears are set up well, you don’t need more gears in the front—but on this entry-level model, and considering the bike’s top speed, those front gears simply aren’t there. Even at 40 km/h you’re basically pedaling in air. This is a common issue with powerful electric bikes from China, and we’ve probably gotten used to it by now.

On the display, there are 5 speed modes. The first one limits speed to 20 km/h, and then the top speed increases. We managed to reach a maximum speed of up to 55 km/h—once we really got it going and helped it along with pedaling. So yes, that’s a proper speed!

Super brakes Zoom

If you’ve ever had an electric scooter or an electric bike from China at home, there’s a good chance you’ve already come across Zoom brakes. You can also find them on models from Kaabo, for example. They’re very high-quality hydraulic brakes—which again confirmed what we expected. They brake really well, even though the front rotor rubbed at the beginning; we simply adjusted/repositioned it.

The brake levers have no play, and to generate strong braking power all you need is a light squeeze. The bike weighs up to 35,5 kg, so stopping a giant like that at 40 km/h isn’t exactly easy—but it’s not a problem for better hydraulic brakes. So we’re giving the brakes a big thumbs-up.

Final verdict: If you’re serious about bikes, definitely go for it!

We can rate the Lankeleisi RV800 Plus as a really great piece in terms of both appearance and quality. Its “fancy” look will catch the attention of almost everyone passing by, also thanks to a tastefully designed built-in battery in the frame and a very nice color finish. The large front fork looks massive and adds to its looks.

Everywhere you look, high-quality components take care of a long ride (Samsung cells), of comfort while riding (rear air shock absorber), of fast riding (750 W Bafang motor), or of safe riding (fat KENDA tires and Zoom hydraulic brakes). The letdown is the basic Shimano derailleur installed here—we’d definitely swap it out, and the grips could be more comfortable too.

For many interested buyers, the biggest downside of this bike will be its price. Yes, the Lankeleisi RV800 Plus is really expensive, but that makes sense considering how costly the components the manufacturer had to fit are. If you enjoy cycling and exploring your surroundings, and you like to add some extra power when you hit the throttle, we definitely recommend this bike—you won’t regret it.
