The Oppo TV S1 model is packed with the latest tech features, while its cheaper sibling, the Oppo TV R1, comes with a better value-for-money and performance ratio.
Premium Oppo TV S1
As we mentioned, the Oppo TV S1 arrives as the more premium piece of the pair. Its specs include top-tier parameters for both picture and sound quality. This TV therefore belongs to the upper end of the 4K range.
The front is covered by a 65″ OLED display with 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels) and 120 % coverage of the NTSC gamut. There’s no lack of brightness at 1500 nits, a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, MEMC technology for an even smoother image, and local dimming with 210 levels technology.
To make the viewing experience as good as possible, the manufacturer teamed up with Dynaudio, a company focused on audio technology. The TV includes 18 speakers with a total output of 85 W and a 5.1.2 sound channel setup.

Other highlights include a pop-up front camera and an array of quality microphones for various video calls or TV control. In terms of performance, the TV is powered by the flagship chipset MediaTek MT9950 along with 8.5 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
Final specs include the HDMI 2.1 Wi-Fi 6 input, a remote control with an NFC chip, a blue light filter certified by TÜV Rheinland, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and support for playing 8K video. The TV runs the ColorOS system.
Oppo TV R1
As the second—and also last—model, Oppo also presented the Oppo TV R1 TV. This model still offers excellent specs, but compared to its sibling it also adds a more reasonable price.
With this model, the manufacturer lets you choose between two screen sizes. There’s a smaller 55″ version, but you can also get the 65″ variant. Both models offer a high-quality 4K LCD display.
The screen-to-body ratio on this TV is very solid, up to 96%. The display also provides 93 % coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, it lacks a 120 Hz refresh rate, but the MEMC technology for a smoother image is still included.
The processor in this TV is slightly weaker than the one in the S1 model, but it’s still fully sufficient. Its name is MediaTek MTK9652 and it’s paired with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
All other technical specifications stay the same, but on the sound side the TV offers “only” 20 W speakers with Dolby Audio technology. Both TVs also include the special picture mirroring feature Oppo Share.
TV prices
TVs from Oppo are currently available only for the Chinese domestic market. The price of the weaker R1 model with a display diagonal of 55″ is 3299 yuan, which comes to 419 € / 493 $ after conversion. The 65″ model costs 4299 yuan, i.e. approximately 546 € / 643 $, and for the most premium S1 model you’ll pay 7999 yuan, i.e. 1016 € / 1197 $.
