Honor has officially confirmed that its new Honor Magic8 lineup will be unveiled on October 15 during a major conference in China. Besides the two flagship smartphones, Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, several other devices will also appear at the event. The main highlight will be the debut of MagicOS 10 based on the latest Android 16.
A simultaneous launch of multiple devices
Honor has prepared a truly extensive portfolio. Besides the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro smartphones, you can also look forward to a new MagicPad 3 tablet and its more powerful MagicPad 3 Pro version, as well as smartwatches Magic Watch 5 Pro and wireless earbuds Honor Earbuds 4. All products will be unveiled during the same event, which the brand uses for a strong marketing impact.
However, the most attention is on the MagicPad 3 Pro, because it will be the world’s first tablet equipped with the latest chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The same processor will also be found in the upcoming Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro smartphoness, ensuring extreme performance and excellent energy efficiency. The standard MagicPad 3 should, according to available information, feature the previous generation of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Honor Magic 8 Pro: a flagship-grade display and performance
The premium Magic 8 Pro model will bring a modern 6.7-inch micro-quad-curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. HDR technology and high brightness will handle graphics quality, aiming to compete even with the best panels on the market. The display is expected to be slightly curved on all four sides, delivering a premium look and a smooth transition of the frame.
A real photo of this device has even already leaked, so we now know for sure what the phone will look like. It keeps the big camera module from the previous generation, but you can also see a more angular design in the style of Apple iPhone.
The device will get a huge 7,200 mAh battery with support for 120 W wired and 80 W wireless charging. This kind of combination means fast top-ups even with such a large capacity, which is still rare in the flagship segment.
A triple camera setup will handle the photography performance — a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with optical stabilization. On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera with high detail levels is expected. Color options include Rising Sun Gold, Azure Blue, Snow White, and Velvet Black.
Honor Magic 8: a cheaper model
The base Magic 8 model will mainly differentiate itself from its sibling with the display. It will feature a 6.58-inch flat OLED display with the same 1.5K resolution. The battery will have a 7,000 mAh capacity and support for 90 W fast charging. Wireless charging is likely missing here, but otherwise it should offer an identical camera lineup to the Pro version.
The smartphone should be available in black, white, light blue, and gold — the same palette as its more powerful sibling. Magic 8 will become the ideal model for those who want top-tier performance but prefer a flat display.
MagicOS 10: a new step for the entire ecosystem
Alongside hardware news, Honor is preparing to unveil its latest software overlay, MagicOS 10, built on Android 16. It’s set to deliver a more modern design, refined animations, and deeper AI integration throughout the system. Enhanced connectivity between Honor devices is also expected—smartphones, tablets, watches, and laptops. The new version should also be optimized for higher efficiency and longer battery life.
Everything suggests that Honor plans to strengthen its position among premium brands, and with the Magic 8 series it wants to directly go up against players like the Samsung Galaxy S24 or Xiaomi 17. The official launch on October 15 is sure to bring fresh details on pricing and global availability.
