A customer from Sweden has two cameras on the façade and another three at home, praising the easy setup and recommending the entire system. A buyer from Greece writes that pairing with the app and installation went quickly, the image is sharp, the microphone is good, and notifications come to the phone without delay. A Lithuanian customer, in turn, praises the connection range between the cameras and the base station and says the system worked for a month without a single dropout.

The same customer points out that Baseus has two different apps, so during installation download Baseus Security. The only negative review was written by a buyer from Slovakia who couldn’t pair the cameras with the base station either with a cable or via Wi‑Fi. Another customer would appreciate a magnetic mount so that after folding the camera for charging, they wouldn’t have to set its angle again.

Compared to Imilab, two cameras and solar

One of the most popular outdoor cameras among our readers is IMILAB EC6 for roughly €50–55, and the dual-lens EC6 Dual, which from the European warehouse costs around €60–65. However, both don’t have a battery and are powered via an adapter cable, so you can place them only where you have an outdoor power outlet. Solar panel and battery for 210 days

Each camera comes with a battery with a capacity of 7 800 mAh and, according to the manufacturer, it lasts up to 210 days if you record around 30 ten-second clips per day. On a busy driveway it’ll be less, but the set includes two solar panels with a four-meter-long USB-C cable that charge the battery continuously, so you don’t have to take the cameras off the wall.

Both the cameras and panels have an IP67 rating and work at temperatures from −20 to 50 °C, so they can handle rain, snow, and summer sun. Installation takes just a few minutes with the included mounts and screws, since you don’t have to run any cables.

2K image with viewing angle of 145°

The camera records in 2K resolution and a wide lens with a viewing angle of 145° covers the entire driveway or yard without blind spots. With 8× digital zoom, according to the manufacturer, you can recognize details up to about eight meters.

In the app you set two zones where the camera should track motion, and another two it should ignore, so it won’t alert you to cars on the street. Person recognition sends you a notification with a photo when someone approaches the house or stands near it.

In color at night with a spotlight

When moving in the dark, the spotlight lights up with a light output of 100 lm and the camera records in color, while night vision reaches up to eight meters according to the manufacturer. The light also deters the uninvited guest, who immediately knows someone is filming them.

The camera has a microphone and a speaker with a chip for noise suppression, so you can talk with visitors or a courier via your phone. You can also control it with voice via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Recordings stay at home in HomeBase

The cameras don’t save videos to a card or to the cloud, but to the base HomeBase, which you connect with a cable to your router. It has 16 GB of internal memory, which according to Baseus is enough for about three months of recordings, and if you want more, you can add an external hard drive up to 16 TB. You don’t pay any monthly fees for storage, and the recordings are encrypted, with privacy protection confirmed by a TÜV Rheinland certificate. Baseus offers a two-year warranty on the cameras.
