With e-bikes under €600, you usually cut costs exactly where it hurts most — the battery. The Aairsk XT90 does it differently: the integrated 48 V 20 Ah cell, i.e. almost 960 Wh is built into the frame, so you get capacity you’d more often see on bikes that cost a thousand. On top of that, you get dual suspension, a 21-speed drivetrain, and NFC unlocking. Let’s see what you truly get for the money — and where it still has room to improve.

A 75 N·m motor can handle even a steep hill
In the rear hub sits a brushless motor with a rated output of 250 W — exactly what a pedal-assist bike in Europe is allowed to have. The more interesting figure is the torque: 75 N·m is a solid value for this class, and it’s that number that largely determines how easily you’ll get going uphill. The manufacturer states climbability up to 25 degrees, with a top speed of 25 km/h, which is the legal limit.
Shifting is handled by a 21-speed Shimano drivetrain, so even without assistance you’ll have plenty of gears to pedal comfortably. The bike is braked with disc brakes on both wheels and rides on 26-inch KENDA off-road tires with a deep tread — great for country roads, forest paths, and even snow. On smooth asphalt you’ll pay with slightly higher rolling resistance and noise.
The 960 Wh battery: that’s the main reason to write about it
The battery is integrated directly into the down tube of the frame, so it’s neither exposed nor hanging on a rack. The 48 V / 20 Ah capacity corresponds to about 960 Wh — for comparison, typical city e-bikes in this price range are around 360 to 470 Wh. Charging from zero takes 6 to 7 hours, which is normal for a battery of this size.
The manufacturer promises 60 to 100 km in pedal-assist mode. Stay realistic here: the upper limit applies to low assist levels, flat terrain, and a lighter rider. The technical specs in the listing also show a more conservative figure of 31 to 60 km, which is likely the range under higher assist levels. So in real life, count somewhere in the middle — still far more than most competitors offer for similar money.
LCD display with NFC plus suspension on both wheels
On the handlebars you get a LCD display that unlocks by holding an NFC key fob near it — without it, you simply can’t start the bike. That’s a nice anti-theft safeguard. The display shows the battery status, current speed, total mileage, and the selected assist level — there are five. In the box, besides the key fob, you also get a multi-tool key and a cable lock.
The XT90 has suspension on both wheels — a front fork and a rear shock. A full-suspension setup at this price is unusual, and on rough roads the difference is noticeable. Don’t expect the shock quality of expensive mountain bikes, but for soaking up bumps and roots on a forest trail, it’s enough — and your back will thank you.
Dimensions, weight, and who it’s for
The bike weighs 27.2 kg and supports a rider plus cargo up to 150 kg. The manufacturer recommends it for heights from 163 to 190 cm; the seat height is adjustable from 80 to 100 cm. Total length is 180 cm and the wheelbase is 112 cm, so it’s a full-size adult bike — not a folding one.
Now, fairly, too, about the trade-offs. The frame is made of carbon steel, not aluminum — it’s sturdy and cheaper to manufacture, but it’s also the main reason those 27 kilograms. Carrying a bike like this to the third floor without an elevator isn’t fun, so you have to factor that in. The offer is also new: it currently only has two ratings (both five stars) and twelve sold units, so there’s still no long-term user experience. If you’re looking for an affordable e-bike with a big battery for trips off the asphalt, XT90 makes sense. If you’re watching every kilogram and you’ll be carrying it up stairs, you should look at a lighter aluminum alternative instead.
