Amazfit has introduced a new generation of smartwatches, and in today’s comparison we’ll be taking a look at all three new models: Amazfit GTS 2 vs GTS 2e vs GTS 2 Mini. How did this comparison turn out? That’s what today’s article will answer.

Comparison of technical specifications: Amazfit GTS 2, GTS 2e, and GTS 2 Mini

Display and design finish

The most expensive of the three, the Amazfit GTS 2 will offer a rounded aluminum body and a 1.65″ durable (9H) AMOLED display modeled after the predecessor. The same panel with 2.5D protective glass then also comes with the cheaper model Amazfit GTS 2e. The screen’s fine look and feel is kept as well, delivering 341 ppi.

The compromise comes in the smallest model Amazfit GTS 2 Mini. It gets only a 1.55″ AMOLED panel, but with lower pixel density of just 301 ppi. This model still wins on weight, though. Thanks to the plastic bottom, it weighs just a little over 19 grams.

Connectivity

When it comes to connectivity, the best-equipped model is the GTS 2, which includes Bluetooth 5.0 and the Wi‑Fi standard 6. The GTS 2e and GTS 2 Mini models, however, include at least Bluetooth in version 5.0. With the exception of the smallest GTS 2 Mini model, GPS + GLONASS support is also available.

Model GTS 2, as the only one, offers not only an integrated microphone, but also a loudspeaker and 4 GB of internal storage. This lets you not only receive calls via the watch, but also copy your favourite songs to the watch’s storage.

Just like with the previous generation, the watches include an NFC chip, but it can only be used for payments via the Chinese service Alipay. So in Europe, you won’t be able to pay with the watch. On top of that, the connection to your mobile phone is handled through the well-known Zepp app.

Fitness features, oxygen and sleep monitoring

GTS 2 and GTS 2e watches offer up to 90 monitored sports activities, and you can choose up to six thanks to their automatic recognition. The GTS 2 Mini model then includes more than 70 sports activities.

The most expensive GTS 2 model also comes with a SpO2 sensor for monitoring blood oxygen. The GTS 2e watches are then the only ones featuring a temperature-measuring sensor. All three watches also support sleep monitoring, don’t miss the ambient light sensor, and include an acceleration sensor and/or an air-pressure sensor.

Battery life

When it comes to battery life, the GTS 2 model offers 7 days in normal mode, 20 days in the basic and limited modes, and 3,5 days in high-load mode per single charge. The integrated battery has a capacity of 246 mAh.

The GTS 2e model does not have Wi‑Fi connectivity and has fewer sensors, which is why it provides battery life of 14 days in normal mode, 24 days in the basic and limited modes, and 7 days in high-load mode per single charge. The battery also has a capacity of 246 mAh.

The smallest GTS 2 Mini model also has a smaller battery with a capacity of 220 mAh. Normal mode offers 14 days, the basic and limited mode offers 21 days, and high-load mode offers 7 days per single charge. All three watches are then charged via a magnetic connector for approximately 2 hours.

Price and availability of the watches

The most expensive but best-equipped model is the Amazfit GTS 2. The price of these watches sits at around €152 / $185 with international sellers at the moment.

More affordable with minimal compromises is the Amazfit GTS 2e model. It offers the same AMOLED display and even a temperature measurement sensor. The watches aren’t officially on sale yet, but their recommended price for the global version is €129 / $157.

Third time’s the charm: the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini model comes with a smaller display and a smaller battery, but also more compact dimensions and low weight. These watches are currently sold only in the US market. The price of this model on the official website is $81 / $99. We expect availability from international sellers soon.
