Huawei officially unveiled a new Huawei Nova 7 series in China. The Nova line is focused on the aesthetics of the devices, a great selfie camera, and unique performance at an affordable price.
OLED displej a priestrel
This year’s Nova lineup includes models with Huawei Nova 7 5G, Nova 7 Pro 5G, and Nova 7 SE 5G branding. For the first time in this category, an OLED display is used, and the front camera is placed in a punch-hole.
Huawei Nova 7 5G
Huawei Nova 7 5G is really a well-designed piece. It features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED display. In the top-left corner there’s a cutout with the front camera.
This model is powered by a great 5G processor Kirin 985. It’s made using a 7 nm TSMC process, which integrates a 5G single-chip solution. That means it supports the 5G network standard in dual mode SA/NSA.
Kirin 985 compared to Snapdragon 865
The estimated maximum download speed is 1277 Mbps and the upload speed is 173 Mbps. When you compare it to the competing processor Snapdragon 865 integrated with the modem Snapdragon X55, the download speed is said to be 40% better and the upload speed up to 75% better.
The Honor brand president recently said that the Kirin 985 processor closes the gap between Kirin 990 and Kirin 820 processors.
Enough memory and a quality 64 MPx camera
Next, the Nova 7 5G offers up to 8 GB of RAM. Available versions include 128 GB or 256 GB of internal ROM storage.
On the back of the device, there’s a camera setup with four lenses. The first main lens offers up to a 64 MPx sensor with an f / 1.7 aperture. The second is an ultra-wide lens with an 8 MPx sensor, the third is a telephoto lens with an 8 MPx sensor, and the last fourth is a macro lens with a 2 MPx sensor.
The camera comes with features such as auto focus with eye tracking, Super Night 3.0, noise reduction at the level of SLR BM3D, and more. It can also focus quickly even in low light and regardless of distance.
Android 10 and NFC
The entire Nova 7 series runs on Android 10 with EMUI 10.1 on top. NFC support is also included.
Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G
This model is the top pick in its class. It has a 6.57-inch curved OLED display with up to 2340 × 1080 pixels resolution. The aspect ratio is 19.5 : 9. It also supports the colorful DCI-P3 gamut. The display has been certified by TUV Rheinland.
Just like the Nova 7 5G model, it’s equipped with the processor Kirin 985. It also has the same rear camera module as the Nova 7 5G model.
Better zoom and hybrid stabilization
Nova 7 Pro, unlike the base model, has up to a 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and a great 50x digital zoom.
It also features super image stabilization AIS with a telephoto lens, plus optical stabilization OIS with a dual-structure design.
As for the selfie camera, it’s also located in the top-left corner and includes two lenses: one with a 32 MP sensor with autofocus, and an 8 MP lens for a wide-angle combined mode.
4000 mAh and 40 W charging
The whole device is powered by a 4000 mAh battery. It also supports fast charging with up to 40 W. That means you can charge the device in one hour.
It also comes with an 8 GB RAM memory. It will be available in two versions: 128 GB and 256 GB ROM storage.
Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G
Compared to its more powerful siblings, the Nova 7 SE 5G model is powered by the Kirin 820 5G processor. So this is a less powerful (and more affordable) model.
The device features a 6.5-inch LCD display with a single front camera, similar to the Nova 7 5G.
It will be available in two versions. The first one offers 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM. The second version comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM.
64 MPx and 40 W charging
It also includes a quad-camera setup like the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro. The first main lens has a 64 MP sensor, the second 8 MP handles an ultra-wide angle, the third 2 MP measures depth, and the last fourth 2 MP is a macro lens.
The device is also powered by a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging support up to 40 W.
A nice bonus from the manufacturers lately has been included phone cases, which won’t be missing even in the package of new Huawei Nova phones.
