Huawei’s flagship lineup is set to grow this year too, even if with a delay. The latest info suggests the new Huawei P50 will be unveiled on 29. July. Last year’s flagship models were officially announced back in March, while models from year 2019 were also unveiled in March.

New Huawei models still without Google services

Huawei is still dealing with issues in the US. That means the latest flagship lineup will come without Google apps and Google services. Still, you can expect premium devices—something we’ve gotten used to over the past few years. The focus will again be on high-quality cameras, which traditionally rank among the best.

The new flagship will feature a design currently offered by the recently unveiled Honor 50, including an interestingly handled camera area. The sensors themselves, however, will be different; the exact parameters are not yet known. We can say with certainty that the device will get a large main sensor, a high-quality ultra-wide-angle lens, and at least 5x optical zoom. The top version will probably be able to zoom optically much more.

Huawei P50 will come with HarmonyOS

The display with a 6,3-inch diagonal will belong to the smallest and least equipped model. It’s likely that Huawei will introduce not only the base version, but also a Pro and Pro+ variant. One of the most interesting pieces of information is that the new models will come with the HarmonyOS operating system preinstalled—an OS the manufacturer introduced only recently.

As for charging speed, no details have been released yet, but expectations are high. Previous Huawei models were already among the better ones in this respect. For example, the Mate 40 Pro offered charging power of 66 W, while it could also be wirelessly charged with 50 W. We also don’t know the battery capacity yet, but Huawei is known for getting quite a lot out of even a smaller battery.
