Early March will be very significant for the Chinese company Meizu. On March 1, it will premiere a film titled These Eighteen Years, created in connection with the celebration of the company’s 18th anniversary. On the second of March, it will officially reveal the overlay Flyme 9 in its home market in China, and a day later, new Meizu 18 series smartphones will arrive.
Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro with great performance
It makes sense that this manufacturer will also introduce its flagship phones in the first quarter, since that’s just how it works. Xiaomi managed to launch the Mi 11 in China at the very end of last year. Samsung scheduled its event for January, and other manufacturers are gradually joining in too.
Two flagship models with similar parameters will be unveiled. They will most likely be called Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro. Both new devices will come with powerful processors from Qualcomm. While the base model will get the Snapdragon 870, the Pro version will be equipped with the most powerful 5 nm chipset, the Snapdragon 888.
Both of these processors are extremely powerful and also energy-efficient. The Snapdragon 888 is something we already know well—it’s found, for example, in Xiaomi Mi 11. Snapdragon 870 is an improved version of last year’s 865-model. No matter which of these two options you choose, you won’t be short on performance. Just keep in mind that these specs haven’t been fully confirmed yet, so you can’t rely on them.
Flagships with everything that comes with it
In addition to the mentioned processor, the base model will offer 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage and a trio of cameras on the back. The main one will have a resolution of 64 Mpix. It will be paired with a 12-megapixel (likely) ultra-wide lens and a third camera with a resolution of 5 Mpix (likely a macro).
The improved version should provide a slightly better camera, but detailed information unfortunately isn’t available yet. We also don’t know the amount of RAM or storage.
Both models will come with Samsung AMOLED displays with FullHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. You can expect the latest operating system Android 11 and also the new Flyme 9 interface layer.
A noticeable battery difference
The biggest differences will be in the batteries. While the base Meizu 18 will come with a 3910 mAh battery, the Pro version will get a significantly larger 4855 mAh battery. Most likely, fast charging won’t be forgotten either, but more details aren’t known.
