Soon, a new Vivo model lineup will be unveiled in mainland China — Vivo X50. It will mainly consist of the base model X50 and an upgraded sibling, X50 Pro.

Both models will bring great specs, and with Vivo’s pricing policy, they’ll likely be available at a good price too. In the camera department, however, the Vivo X50 Pro will bring a smaller revolution in the form of excellent gimbal stabilization.

A few days ago, we brought you an article about the special gimbal stabilization that the Pro model in the X50 lineup will come with. Thanks to the latest leaks, we know much more already, and we can now tell that these models will become bestsellers.

Premium specs

Verified insiders revealed detailed specs of the upcoming Vivo X50 smartphone on the Chinese social network Weibo. The front will feature a 6.56" Super AMOLED curved display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2376 pixels).

Along with support for 90 Hz, which is already sort of a standard in 2020, a punch-hole with a 32 MP selfie camera will be located in the top-left corner. The bottom edge of the display will house an optical in-display fingerprint reader.

Thanks to leaked info from the Geekbench app, we know that in terms of performance, the base X50 model will be powered by a high-end mid-range processor, the Snapdragon 765G with 5G network support.

The rear quad-camera setup will include a 48 MP Sony sensor IMX598, followed by a 13 MP Samsung S5K3L6 sensor, an 8 MP telephoto lens OmniVision OV08A10 for 3x zoom, and an 8 MP Hynix Hi846 ultrawide sensor.

A large battery

Based on the leaks, we know the X50 will be powered by a 4315 mAh battery, which—if optimization is on point—should deliver solid battery life. 33 W fast charging is, of course, also included.

From the latest information about the Vivo X50 model, we also know it will feature a 3.5 mm jack supporting the AK4377a Hi-Fi audio chip. It will deliver a much nicer and cleaner sound.

Vivo X50 shines

Even though we don’t know much about the more premium Vivo X50 Pro model yet, thanks to an official video posted on YouTube, we clearly have plenty to look forward to.

The video shows a completely new stabilization option thanks to a small built-in gimbal. It can stabilize video much more efficiently than the electronic solutions used so far—or, in the better cases, optical stabilization.

The presentation of the smartphones for the Chinese market will take place in China on 1. June. We’ll be watching everything and bringing you the latest articles among the first. In the comments below the article, you can tell us what you think about the new model lineup.
